Abstract

This community service program aims to develop the potential of eggplant processing as a creative business opportunity through product innovation training and the introduction of simple technology for the people of Branti Raya Village, Srirejo, South Lampung. The activity involved 20 participants consisting of housewives who have potential to develop home-based food businesses. The main problems faced by the partners were limited knowledge and skills in processing eggplant into products with higher added value, limited understanding of attractive packaging and labeling, and low entrepreneurial motivation. The implementation method included providing entrepreneurial motivation, training in eggplant-based processed product innovation, demonstrations of hygienic processing techniques, practice in packaging and labeling, and assistance in calculating the cost of production. The final evaluation showed a 90% increase in participants’ technical skills related to processing techniques, packaging, labeling, and production cost calculation. The results of this program indicate that housewives in Branti Raya Village were able to produce creative, hygienic, and marketable eggplant processed products. This activity also encouraged participants to view local agricultural products as valuable economic resources for developing sustainable local household businesses.
